Part A — Help Guide
1. Scoring a match
CrikStars lets you score a full match ball‑by‑ball, live — and keep going even without internet.
Start a match
- Tap Start Match.
- Choose or create the two teams and pick the playing XI for each.
- Set the match rules — overs, players per side, overs per bowler, and other options.
- Do the toss — pick who won and whether they bat or bowl.
- Select the opening batters and the opening bowler, then start scoring.
Score ball‑by‑ball
- Tap the runs (0–6) for each delivery; the score, overs and run rate update live.
- Record extras (wide, no‑ball, byes, leg‑byes) with the right button.
- On a wicket, choose the dismissal type (bowled, caught, LBW, run out, stumped, etc.), then who is out, and (for catches/run‑outs) the fielder involved. You can also mark a dropped catch.
- After a wicket, pick the new batter; at the end of an over, pick the next bowler.
Powerplay
- Mark powerplay overs so the live screen and scorecard show powerplay badges and banners during those overs.
- Attach custom tags to overs (for example C1 / C2) to highlight or categorise specific overs. They appear on the live screen and scorecard so everyone sees them.
Bonus / penalty runs
- Award bonus or penalty runs when the match rules require it. Pick a reason (or type your own). The runs go to the correct team's total, and the change is recorded in Match Notes with the time.
DLS (rain‑affected matches)
- Use the DLS option to apply a revised target/result when a match is shortened by rain or another interruption.
Wagon Wheel
- Record where shots are hit with the Wagon Wheel, building a visual map of a batter's scoring areas.
Fix a mistake (Undo / Edit)
- Undo the last action while scoring.
- After the match, an organiser/scorer can Edit the Scorecard to correct details.
Manage the squad mid‑match
- Use Change Playing Squad to handle substitutions or corrections to who is playing.
Hand over scoring (Role Transfer)
- Need someone else to take over? Use Role Transfer to pass the scorer role to another user — they accept the request and continue.
Innings & match flow
- When the first innings ends, an innings‑break screen appears: it shows the first‑innings total, the target, and how long the break has been running. Tap Start 2nd innings to choose the new openers and bowler and resume.
- Use End Match to close the game — the result, scorecard and Stars of the Match are generated automatically.
Scoring offline
- You can keep scoring with no internet — including across the innings break. Your scoring is saved on the device and syncs automatically when you're back online, so nothing is lost.
- While offline you'll see a reminder: "You're offline — please come into a network zone so viewers can see the match live." Viewers only see live updates once you reconnect; your scoring continues safely in the meantime.
2. Following & watching a match
Open any match to follow it live or review it afterwards. A match opens with four tabs:
- Info — status, format, date/time, venue, teams, toss, organiser and officials.
- Scorecard — full batting and bowling figures, the extras breakdown, and an innings selector (1st / 2nd).
- Summary — the result, the Stars of the Match (see below), key stats (highest score, best bowling), partnerships, fall of wickets, and a team comparison.
- Commentary — a running, ball‑by‑ball commentary feed with the current over and ball indicators.
While a match is live, you also see the ball‑by‑ball score update in real time, and (if enabled) a worm/run‑progression graph and voice commentary.
Stars of the Match
Calculated automatically from match performance (an MVP points system):
- Man of the Match — best overall performer.
- Fighter of the Match — the top performer from the losing side.
- Best Batter and Best Bowler of the match.
Watch the live stream
- If a match is being streamed, open the live stream / video from the match to watch it in‑app.
3. My Career (your cricket profile)
My Career is your personal hub. Anyone can open a player's Career to see their journey. Tabs include:
- My Stats — batting, bowling, fielding, captaincy and more.
- Matches — split into Played and Officiated:
- Played = matches where you were in the playing XI.
- Officiated = matches where you scored, umpired, commentated, streamed or organised — with role badges and counts (e.g. "Umpired 12 · Scored 30").
- Teams — the teams you belong to.
- Tournaments — the tournaments you've taken part in.
- Achievements — your Trophies (Man of the Match, Fighter, Best Batter, Best Bowler) and Badges. Tap a trophy to jump to that match.
- Photos — your personal photo gallery.
Career photos

- Others can view your photos, but only you can add or delete yours.
- You can select several photos and delete them together.
- There's a per‑user limit on stored photos — remove older ones to make room if you reach it.
Add stats from CricHeroes (image import)
- Have stats on CricHeroes? Use Add Stats to import them by uploading screenshots of your CricHeroes profile/stats. The app reads the numbers from the images and adds them to your record.
- For best results: upload clear, full screenshots, in small batches (around 5 at a time). Importing takes roughly a minute per 5 photos.
Badges
- Earn and view Badges that recognise milestones and achievements.
4. Teams
- Create a team, give it a name and logo, and add players — existing CrikStars users or new players you manage.
- Find your teams under My Career → Teams.

- See how your team ranks on the Team Leaderboard.
5. Tournaments
- Create and manage tournaments with multiple teams.
- Organise teams into groups and set up rounds / fixtures.
- Track everything in the tournament's tabs: Matches, Squad, Statistics, and the Points Table.
- Tournament info shows the format, dates and venues.
6. Leaderboards
- Open Leaderboard to see top performers.
- Switch between the Player Leaderboard and the Team Leaderboard to compare individual and team rankings.

- Grounds
- Academies
- Box Cricket venues
- Organizers
- Scorers
- Umpires
- Commentators
- Streamers
For each category you can browse, filter (by location and more), and open profiles. To appear in a directory yourself, use that category's Register option (for example, register as a scorer or umpire), and people can then find and contact you.
8. Looking For
Use Looking For when you need — or can offer — something: players for a match, a team to join, or opponents.
- Post what you're looking for.
- Browse the feed and filter others' posts.
- Manage your posts at any time.
9. Chat & notifications
- Chat with other users and groups, and manage your contacts.
- Notifications keep you updated on match events, requests (like role transfers) and activity. Review past alerts in your notification history.
10. World Cricket & Crex (pro scores)
- World Cricket brings you live scores and results of professional and international matches, so you can follow the big games alongside your own cricket.
- Crex gives a richer, detailed live view for following a match closely.
11. Live streaming
- Stream your match so others can watch live in the app.
- Watch ongoing streams from the match screen.
- Streamers can adjust stream settings while live.
Part B — FAQ
Account & sign‑in
How do I sign up?
Tap Register, enter your mobile number, and verify the OTP sent by SMS. Then complete your profile.
I didn't get my OTP. What do I do?
Wait a few seconds and tap Resend. Check that your number is correct and you have signal. If it still doesn't arrive, try again shortly or use Contact Us.
How do I change the app language or theme?
Open the More menu and choose Language or App Theme.
How do I delete my account?
More menu → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and data and can't be undone.
Scoring a match
How do I start scoring?
Start Match → pick teams and the playing XI → set match rules → do the toss → choose openers → score ball‑by‑ball.
I made a scoring mistake — can I fix it?
Yes. Undo the last action while scoring. After the match, an organiser/scorer can Edit the Scorecard.
Can I score without internet?
Yes — scoring works offline, including through the innings break, and syncs automatically when you reconnect. While offline, viewers won't see live updates until you're back in a network zone, but your scoring is saved safely on the device.
Why does it ask me to come into a network zone?
So your live score reaches viewers. You can keep scoring offline; the message is just a reminder that the live feed and streaming resume once you're back online.
What are custom over tags (e.g. C1 / C2)?
Optional labels you can attach to specific overs to highlight or categorise them. They appear on the live screen and scorecard.
How do bonus / penalty runs work?
Award bonus or penalty runs with a reason (preset or your own). They're added to the correct team's total and logged in Match Notes with the time.
It's raining — can the app handle a revised target?
Yes — use the DLS option to apply a rain‑affected revised target/result.
Someone else needs to take over scoring. How?
Use Role Transfer to pass the scorer role; the other person accepts the request and continues.
Matches, stats & awards
Who decides Man of the Match, Best Batter and Best Bowler?
They're calculated automatically from match performance (an MVP points system). The Summary tab shows the Stars of the Match: Man of the Match, Fighter of the Match (best from the losing side), Best Batter and Best Bowler.
What is "Fighter of the Match"?
The top‑performing player from the losing team — recognition for a strong effort in a defeat.
My Career shows matches I didn't play in. Why?
Your Career Matches tab separates Played (you were in the XI) from Officiated (you scored, umpired, commentated, streamed or organised), so each is counted correctly.
My Career, photos & CricHeroes import
How do I add photos to my Career?
On your own Career → Photos → Add, then pick photos from your device.
Can others see or delete my photos?
Others can view your Career photos, but only you can add or delete yours. You can multi‑select and delete several at once.
Why can't I add more photos?
There's a per‑user limit on stored photos. Delete some older ones to free up space.
How do I import my CricHeroes stats?
Use Add Stats and upload screenshots of your CricHeroes stats. The app reads them and adds them. Upload clear images in batches of about 5 for the best speed and reliability.
My import failed or was slow.
Make sure images are clear and not too large, upload ~5 at a time, and keep a stable connection — larger batches take longer (roughly a minute per 5 photos).
Teams & tournaments
How do I create a team?
Create Team, add a name and logo, and add players. Maintain your roster anytime via Manage Players.
How do I run a tournament?
Create a tournament, add teams, set up groups and rounds, and track Matches, Statistics and the Points Table from the tournament screen.
How do I find a ground, scorer or umpire?
Open Community, choose the category (Grounds, Scorers, Umpires, etc.), and browse or filter profiles.

In the relevant Community category, use Register to create your provider profile so others can find you.
I need players for a match.

Can I stream my match?
Yes — start a live stream from the match so others can watch in‑app.
Where do I see live scores of big professional matches?
Open World Cricket (and Crex for a detailed view) for live pro and international scores.
Troubleshooting
The live score looks stuck or out of date.
Pull to refresh, or reopen the match. If the scorer was offline, scores sync once they reconnect.
I can't see a feature mentioned here.
Some options depend on your role in a match (scorer/organiser vs viewer) or need the latest app version. Update the app and check you have the right role for that action.
How do I contact support?
More menu → Contact Us.
This guide covers the main CrikStars features. Exact button names or positions may vary slightly as the app is updated. Last reviewed against the app for accuracy — if something looks different in your version, use Contact Us and we'll help.
